Why should Kogi State be left out?
Kogi State that houses the Obajana Cement Factory has not in any way benefited from any serious CSR initiatives since the inception of this entity.
His trucks have killed more Kogites than any other citizens in this country and the damages he has caused to the roads in kogi state cannot be Quantified. Practically, most roads are not motorable in the state courtesy of this investment. The only road constructed by Dangote in kogi state (Kabba to Obajana) is a road inspired by one federal tax holiday.
Employment wise, it is rare to see Kogites occupying serious management positions in obajana cement plc. Kogites only occupy positions such as flag holders, fleet officers and may be the "Slave trade sections" of the entity.
What about the prices of the cement? In kogi state, it's in the highest part of heaven. The location has not reflected in the price system in the state.
I doubt if Obajana, the host community has a serious water source as we speak as I still see tanks and drums beside the roads from dwellers who relies on tankers to give them water daily.
Revenue wise, do you know that 99% of the plate numbers of obajana cement trailers are registered from Kano state, Ghana and cameroon, what about the annual renewals? Such a massive loss to the state in the areas of IGR.
I am very sure thier expertraite quotas and nominal rolls will be hidden from the revenue generating agencies in the state.
Have we talked about the security implications of that firm, it's trailer parks and other associated businesses around there? Obajana today is an hideout to all sorts of criminals in the world and it takes a well policed state to ensure crimes are put into maximum checks in the location where it operates. It's a place where someone can commit murder elsewhere and hid for ages.
Tell me how much Dangote have contribute to the state security trust fund and other local policing initiatives. He has donated vehicles severally to the Nigerian police in lagos state. Almost doing it annually. Why same can't be replicated here.
I am also sure that recommendations from the environmental impact assessment would have been abused and compromised as we speak. The climate of dusts around the Obajana community can be worse than COVID 19 long run. Ideally, Dangote should have a world-class standard hospital in obajana to be accessed daily by dwellers in that location. Am sure the ones there wont be graded.
In the same kogi state, Dangote is mining coals daily somewhere in Ankpa causing serious environmental problems in that location and as usual hiding under the "Operating with federal licence" imanika. From available reports, he has damaged all the roads in that place and gas contributed zero to thier local economy. This can only happen in banana republic.
The shut down is long overdue as the existence of the firm in the state is more of a curse than a blessing to the state.
