The Northeastern Youths Advocacy for Peace and Development (NEYAPAD) has congratulated Dr. Bala Bello on the occasion of his appointment as deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The group in a statement issued in Abuja signed by its Coordinator Amb. Salahuddeen Shuaibu Planner, Secretary General Mr. Abner Shitu, Executive Director Peace Resolution, Reconciliation and Humanitarian Service Hon. Tukura Kwayi and Executive Director Youth Mobilization Alh. Ahmed Mahmud Barkabali, described the new appointee as a seasoned financial management expert, experienced public official, and an accomplished Nigerian who has traveled across the length and breadth of Nigeria's financial management system.
The group said Dr. Bello's appointment to serve in the country's apex bank is a vote of confidence and a bold statement on his credentials as a proud son of the Northeast who has discharged himself adequately in every assignment he has been privileged to handle.
The youth organization recalls with nostalgia some of the exploits of Dr. Bello when he held sway at the Nigerian Exports and Imports Bank (NEXIM) as executive Director of Corporate services, where he led several initiatives that were geared towards sustaining the country's fiscal regime.
The youths appealed to Dr. Bala who has a reputation for carrying the youths along in his activities to sustain the tempo and build on his already impressive legacies.
The group equally thanked President Tinubu for finding Dr.Bala worthy of the role saying his selection underscores his talent-hunting skills and are optimistic that the appointee who is still awaiting senate confirmation will not disappoint in his new role.
They equally called on the Nigerian leader to beam his searchlights on the Northeast as potentials are waiting to be explored in both human capital and natural resources.
